~~~ Drowning in Animation Master ~~~
<PREVIOUS
(5)  At this stage we have an interesting shot, but we can do a bit better.
We need to add one more light.  This time a volumetric light to cast a beam into the water.
To get the volumetric effect to show through the opaque waves, we simply make sure that "cast shadows" is unchecked on the wave model shortcut in the choreography.
(6)  Now things are starting to look cool, but we need to create some interaction between the waves and the volumetric light.
Now if you went through the first tutorial, you created a flat plane with an animated material.  It was later used to generate your wave displacement map.
Simply import that model, material, and action used in that project into your current choreography and place the model between the volumetric light and wave model.
Because the model was modeled vertically, it will need to be rotated flat in the choreography.
This model is now going to be a gel for our volumetric light.  The only thing in the choreography that needs to be checked for this model is "cast shadows".
The material we made in the first tutorial was a turbulence combiner with white and black color attributes.  The material needs to be adjusted so light can pass through it, so set the transparency of the white attribute to 100%.  The octave setting should be set to 1, but everything else can stay the same.
(7)  Now drop the action from the first tutorial on to the "gel" model and you are done.   We just recycled the pieces used to make our animated wave map to make an animated light gel that will be in sync with our waves.
Now your ready to render!
As always, if you have any comments or questions, feel free to email me.
